RULES FOR NATIONAL COLLEGIATE TWIRLING CHAMPIONSHIPS

The National Collegiate Twirling Championships presents the opportunity to showcase pure twirling excitement, athleticism, and head on competition that creates the next level for athletic twirling.  Here's the criterion:

1.

Routine should be exciting.  Think of yourself performing on the 50-yard line in a packed stadium during the halftime of the big homecoming game.
2.  College women and men will compete in a single competition.   The highest placed female and the highest placed male will receive gender specific title (i.e. Women's National Collegiate Twirling Champion and Men's National Collegiate Twirling Champion)  From the finals, the overall highest scoring twirler will be named Grand National Collegiate Champion.
3.  Twirlers provide own cassette music or CD.  Music should be fast-paced and when possible, include college fight songs and/or exciting /powerful theme music.  Twirlers have the choice of using music for accompaniment or to perform in coordination with the music.
4.  One baton and multiple batons should be used.  No fire or novelty equipment allowed.
5.  Rules: Standard NBTA INTERNATIONAL RULES, including safety provisions.  Time limit 2:20 to 2:30.  Standard NBTA INTERNATIONAL solo score sheet, with references for multiple batons.
6.  Schedule: Preliminary contest will be held on Wednesday afternoon (July 21st).  Finals will be held during the Collegiate Night Spectacular on Friday evening (July 23rd)
7.  A distinctive collegiate emblem will be presented to each college contestant.
